Dear Family and Friends:
Well this week could have gone a bit better, but we had 5 investigators in church! Talk about blessings! We are planning the baptism of Alma for this week, as it did not go through last week. Hopefully she will take that exciting step in her life! We had two new investigators at church this week, Ana and her son Brian. They loved the church and are really excited about learning. I hope they keep that flame! This week we have some good lessons planned, and are hoping to have lots of people in church next Sunday.
My companion, Elder Schultz and I are doing good together. He is a great missionary and will be an even greater one than I. He is learning Spanish at a quick rate, and is happy doing the work.
I went out and bought a cactus today, as a year present for myself. It's cool. Now I feel like I'm in Mexico. It only cost me five pesos, about forty cents USD. I like it.
It has been hot down here lately, but we are getting ready to have the "wet season" here in a few weeks. It is supposed to rain everyday. Yee haw!! That will be nice after all this heat. Yes sir.
I love you all and hope you are well!

I LOVE the cactus!!! Josh would smile at that Elder, since his landscape is nothing but cactus. He'd have saved you a few pesos and just plucked one from the ground! Very fitting for you, I think. Sounds like you are doing great. And that wet season will hopefully be a relief. Elder Nix is facing 100+ degrees daily and he is better suited for very cold climates, so he's got his chin up and bearing the heat like a trooper. Rain would be much appreciated in Arizona for sure!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your soon-to-be HUMP day! I really enjoy reading your blog and am glad your mom is helping us all stay close to your service to the Lord. May you and your Missionary Companion have a super week !!!!
Love,
Dee Nix (from Josh's Account)
